Fogra works with System Brunner Print Expert® Suite

LOCARNO, Switzerland (2010-11-04) — System Brunner, the leading provider of systems for process control, quality assurance and standardization in the graphics industry, and the internationally recognized Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association are to carry out joint activities. To this end, System Brunner AG is loaning Fogra the Print Expert Suite measuring and evaluation software. With the modules Proof Checker, Plate Checker, PrintCurve Checker and Print Checker, this solution is very suitable for process control, standardization and quality analysis in the process steps mentioned above.
However, the application is not restricted to conventional offset printing. On the contrary, it is intended to use this solution for digital printing applications as well. Based on experience gained and research already carried out, especially in the context of the research topic “Digital Printing” that has only just commenced (Fogra No. 35.003), it is planned to work jointly on further developments. Against the background of a suitable print evaluation for various digital processes and technologies, it is also aimed at integrating large-format Inkjet printing.

Furthermore, there are plans to use this software package (together with programs from other manufacturers) also for training and in the new Fogra certification "DigitalPrint Expert". This provides digital printers with a deeper insight into the Print Expert technology for quality evaluation and analysis of their print products.

Print Expert Suite integrates System Brunner’s know-how from more than 30 years of developments in standardization and quality evaluation of printing processes. Today, Eurostandard/Globalstandard® includes up to 50 process parameters to evaluate quality and uses the 5-star-rating system to summarize the results in degrees according to visual image examination criteria. Eurostandard also contains the target values of PSO, but with the number of measured variables, quality evaluation and color control/regulation goes even further.
