Hi Liter Inland Graphics, Burlington (Wisconsin) equips a new EUROMAN with Instrument Flight® Inline
Hi Liter Graphics in Burlington (USA) has equipped its new EUROMAN press with the Color Control System - Instrument Flight® (CCS-IF) from Quad Tech / System Brunner. The EUROMAN is a new press series from MAN Roland and when the machine at Hi Liter started up in the autumn of 2007 it was only the second of this type in the world to go into production. According to the manufacturer, it is extremely versatile and a response to changing demands in the heatset web offset market. Instrument Flight, the only color control system that monitors gray balance, takes more than 30 process parameters into account for automatic color control in offset printing to ensure optimal quality and consistent color over the entire print run. The priorities are on gray balances in the mid-tones and shadows which are the most critical variables in multicolor illustration printing. After every CCS-IF installation, System Brunner carries out a print test with Instrument Flight on the press. Among other things, the function of CCS-IF is closely checked and even the slightest deviations in tone value increases in the individual colors and the overprint, which are so important for picture reproduction, are analyzed and evaluated. The information about these process variations helps CCS-IF users to further optimize their printing systems and achieve highly consistent color quality through a harmonized ink/water balance and stable tone value increases. This reduces a printing company's costs and provides other advantages along the entire process chain, in the color matching phase for instance, or during production through improved conformity between the proof and the printed result.
