As the pioneer of standardization, System Brunner has decisively shaped the international printing industry. Felix Brunner is considered the "father of standardization". GLOBALSTANDARD is System Brunner’s standardization concept which, since its introduction in 1975 (at that time under the brand name EUROSTANDARD), has been permanently expanded, adapted to technological changes in all process steps, and today still represents the most comprehensive definition of a print standard. In the printing process alone, GLOBALSTANDARD defines more than 30 variables that influence the color of the printed image.
In recent years, many of these definitions and findings have been added to the concepts of ISO/PSO and G7®. As a result, the target values of GLOBALSTANDARD correspond to a large extent with today’s standards and go even further because they contain important parameters not included in the ISO standards. Gray balance for instance, or three-color overprint behavior and conformity. Thus the System Brunner Globalstandards represent the Masterset that contains the ISO/PSO and GRACoL G7® definitions but go even further. This gives additional security and the flexibility to cover different market requirements.
In other words: printing according to GLOBALSTANDARD also means printing to the ISO standard but even more precisely.
The Globalstandard target values are stored in every software with INSTRUMENT FLIGHT technology.
Globalstandard defines today printing conditions for 8 different types of paper for sheetfed and web offset printing.
In addition, the Instrument Flight software permits further house standards with adapted target values for certain papers or printing processes to be easily defined.
Besides the Globalstandard nominal target values, it is decisive how the different measurement attributes are managed and controlled in order to comply with the standard according to visual criteria. Not all measurement parameters have the same visual significance. And here INSTRUMENT FLIGHT technology really shows its strengths.
